Thirty Five Torbay AAC junior and adult members made the trip to the 1st Westward League Cross Country Meeting at Plymouth’s Central Park. The league attracts some of the regions best athletes. Finishing position is what scores points for individuals and the club. The weather was kind on the day with sunshine despite overnight rain which made lower parts of the course nice and boggy. Torbay’s U15 boys Sam Hart, James Larkin, Angus Graham and U15 girls teams Iona Farquharson, Emma Harrison, Mia Ratcliff shined on the day finishing 1st and 2nd in their leagues respectively. This puts both teams in a great position for the next race on the 10th November in Newquay. Three Torbay AAC members ran the Chester Marathon on Sunday which is a fast course run 19 miles in England and 7 in Wales. It takes in the City’s iconic landmarks and finishes at the racecourse. Elizabeth Bebbington was first home for the club in an amazing time of 3.23.41 finishing 2nd FV55 (33rd overall female) Karen Frissen completed the course in 4.00.58 with husband Paul not far behind in 4.08.37.

Three members of Torbay AAC travelled to Bournemouth for the half marathon this weekend. On a warm and breezy day first home was Jan Barrett In 2.00.00, Darren Barrett in 2.06.00 and Andy Shout 2.19.00.

Torbay’s Tas Felstead completed the Spartan Beast in Windsor which is a 23km course with 30 tricky obstacles including waist deep bogs, 8ft high walls and lots of carries.
