15 Torbay AAC Junior and Adult Athletes travelled to Aldon Hill in Yeovil for the South West Cross Country Championships. The weather and ground conditions were good at this challenging course which has a long steep hill testing the stamina and resolve of all competitors.

Full results were:Senior Men 8.4 km: 61 James Alcock 31.42 (12th U20M and 2nd for Devon); 126 Anthony Raine 36.49 (11th MV50); 127 Steve Weeks 37.02 (23rd MV40). U15 Boys 4.6 km: 35 Ben Osmond 18.01; 47 Samuel Hart 18.51; 73 James Larkin 23.20. U13 Boys 3.2 km: 20 Liam McQueen-Mason 12.32; 24 Thomas Ward 12.39. Senior Women 5.7 km: 75 Kav Solder 31.03. U17 Women 4.6 km: 29 Holly Leman-Liberal 21.06 (3rd for Devon); 39 Chloe Weeks 22.38; 42 Emily Proctor 23.05. U15 Girls 3.8 km: 12 Iona Farquharson 15.48 (3rd for Devon); 27 Emma Harrison 16.49; 45 Mia Ratcliff 17.44.

6 Torbay AAC Runners took part in one last race for 2019 as they attended the Final Countdown 10k Trail race on New Years Eve at Dartington Estate, the route winded its way along muddy riverside trails, through muddy woodland and up a few hills for good measure.First home for the club in 2nd Place was Peter Monaghan

Club members Mike, Sally, Dave, Debra, Betsy, Anita, Lisa, Natalie and Cassandra were all thanked by the organiser for volunteering and helping at the race.

Final Countdown 10k

2 Torbay AA athletes ran the New Years 5 Miler at Exeter. This a new race around the RunExe 5k route on the banks of the River. Results were 12 Sonny Harvey 30:18; 55 Karen Baddeley 37:41 (first FV55).

Brian Lewis ran the Axmouth Challenge 5 miler, 5.35 miles of multi terrain running, mud and some steep climbs, especially one right at the start. He came 5th place in 47.44.
