Bath Half Marathon

Three Torbay AC runners ran The Bath Half Marathon with Betsy Bebbington (photo) claiming 3rd place in the F/V 50 category when over 12,000 runners crossed the finish line and an estimated 40,000 spectators celebrated the 38th edition of this much-loved race. A bright, dry and cool morning provided almost perfect running conditions. Leading the TAAC contingent home was vet. Pete Monaghan in an excellent (1:15:59) with Betsy Bebbington (1:32:24) 3rd V50 lady and new member Mary Schoeneberg a very creditable (2:05:42)

 

Gloucester 20
Cassandra Harrison ran The Gloucester 20 miler her longest run ever!! in the 3 lap road race. Although overtaken by a teddy bear on the second lap! Cassandra was very pleased with her time of (2:59:10) her body didn’t like it though!!!

 

Bovey 5K

Ten Torbay runners took on the mud in the Bovey Valley Runners inaugural race, with 5k and 10k options to choose from, although all Torbay AC members ran the 10k! A great race starting at the Football Club headed out through Parke, with two laps and lots of mud before heading back to finish. First home for the Club was Brian Lewis (41:18) followed by Mike Davies (45:03) Tamsin Felstead (48:28) Anita Ley (51:10) Sally Davies (51:52) Tessa Hearfield (52:30) Ray Brown (52:30) Felicity Davies (53:51) Natalie Higgs (53:55) Gemma Radcliffe (54:18)

Weymouth Half

Debbie Drake (photo) with 1000 others took on a blustery 13.1 mile run along the coast in the Weymouth half marathon. Finishing in (1:48:10) and 3rd place in V50 category. This was a perfect race whether you’re training for a spring marathon or just improving your endurance without a proper hill in sight allowing you to take in the spectacular views and sights of Weymouth
