26 Torbay Athletes took part in Sunday’s final Westward League Cross Country Race at Stover School. Thanks to the heavy rain over recent weeks, the course’s muddy conditions didn’t disappoint the hardy endurance athletes. Great performances by both adult and junior members of the club help to secure a total of six trophies at the awards ceremony. The standout team performance throughout the season went to the U15 boys team of James Larkin, Samuel Hart and Ben Osmond who won first place in the league. The U15 girls team of Iona Farquharson, Emma Harrison and Mia Ratcliff also put in consistent performance throughout the season to secure 2nd place in the league. The mens vets team of Steve Weeks, Anthony Raine and Peter Hart finished in a respectable 5th place overall. Individual awards over the whole season went to Sara Crozier who came 2nd in the FV50 category, Holly Leman-Liberal who came 3rd in the U17W category, Iona Farquharson who came 3rd in the U15G category and Paige Quinn who was 3rd in the U11G category.
