Race reports 13/05/24:
Torbay AAC were testing endurance this weekend.
Rebecca Niles took on The Exeter marathon on Sunday morning, with bright sunshine and a cool breeze. Despite runners being directed half a mile the wrong way on mile 1, and feeling the sting of incredulation for 26 miles. Rebecca finished strong with a gun time of 3:44:53
On a bright sunny morning Iaen Sell took part in the Ottery St Mary 10k – a sell out race of 300+ starters – including local running superstar, Jo Pavey. Iaen finished in 78th place with a time of 48:57
- Nadine Lee was in The Lake District National Park A ridiculously hard day out running, walking, shuffling and very nearly crawling her way around the 75k lap of Windermere. She had loads of fun, ate three peak top picnics, played pass the parcel, met some amazing people and shared the experience with a top bunch of northerners. With great company from Jess and Ruth for the fabulous support Nadine completed the lap of Lake Windermere, almost 48 miles with 8,369 feet of elevation in 18 hours 38 minutes.
Natasha Syratt was in Gynedd Wales for the challenge of the Ultra Trail Snowdonia 100k. Training had been good and her pacing was amazing, she felt awesome and loved every minute of it. Unfortunately knee pain started at 40k, she pushed through completing over 44 miles with over 13 hours and 13,215 feet of running before taking the difficult decision to end her challenge rather than continue to tackle Snowdon injured in the dark.
At the Ivybridge 10k Kevin Fine and James Hartridge took on the lanes and hills in this club favourite event.
Kevin Fine 42:38 (59th)
James Hartridge 48:46 (122nd)
