Torbay AAC athlete Peter Monaghan managed to break a local 5k record in a weekend where running plans were disrupted with the arrival of Storm Dennis. With the Westward League Cross Country fixture and most local races cancelled a few hardy souls braved the local parkrun events. Runners were battered by the wind and rain, and conditions were challenging. Peter Monaghan claimed second place at Teignmouth Promenade parkrun and the course record for the mv55 age category in a time of 18:00, 39 Karen Baddeley (23:20) and 96 Tamsin Felstead (27:44) at Torbay Velopark it was Nick Robinson, Ian Hayward, David Maxwell, Mark Smith and Sara Crozier lacing up for a 5k stormy blast.
