Nine Torbay AAC Runners took part in the Oh My Obelisk Half Marathon Trail Race on Sunday with 5 others opting for the slightly shorter 9 Mile Race. Both races are multi-terrain events with plenty of mud, steep hills, fields, woodland tracks and quiet country lanes with stunning views. Torbay AAC’s Pete Monaghan ran the Plympton 10K January Jaunt. This is a multi terrain race which has been going for over 18 years now. Pete secured a well earned victory winning his first race as a MV55
15 Torbay AAC Junior and Adult Athletes travelled to Aldon Hill in Yeovil for the South West Cross Country Championships last weekend. The weather and ground conditions were good at this challenging course which has a long steep hill testing the stamina and resolve of all competitors. Full results were: Senior Men 8.4 km: 61 James Alcock 31.42 (12th U20M and 2nd for Devon); 126 Anthony Raine 36.49 (11th MV50); 127 Steve Weeks 37.02 (23rd MV40). U15 Boys 4.6 km: 35 Ben Osmond 18.01; 47 Samuel Hart 18.51; 73 James Larkin 23.20. U13 Boys 3.2 km: 20 Liam McQueen-Mason 12.32; 24 Thomas Ward 12.39. Senior Women 5.7 km: 75 Kav Solder 31.03.
