Torbay’s Darren Maynard ran in the reorganised Grizzly event at Seaton, due to the adverse weather conditions the usual “twentyish muddy, hilly, boggy, beachy miles of the multiest-terrain running” had to be reduced to a modified (10m) CUB route which was an ordeal in its-self in the toughest conditions of the 31 Grizzly events. Despite the weather 1266 completed the route with Darren Maynard finishing 449th and 2nd in his in category (1:38:11) saying “What a day! I especially liked the beer stop a great touch! But the scary journey home, took 3 hours and it’s only 25 miles! A special thanks to all the marshal’s, coastguard, St. John who showed the camaraderie ofhumans at their best.
