Results to Monday 13th August

The Forest Flyer
Fifteen Torbay AAC members dodged the rain clouds and donned the trail shoes to take on the Dawlish Coasters Forest Flyer,nearly 5 miles of completely off-road running through the Haldon Forest Park this route was not flat! all were delighted to conquer the nearly one mile hill at the end!
First home for Torbay AAC in position 50 was Julian Jones (37:51), 62 Ian Hayward (39:20), 65 Cassandra Harrison (39:42), 69 Mike Davies (40:02), 86 Keith Simpson (41:52), 98 Sara Jane Crozier (43:17), 112 Irene Hewings (45:32), 119 Sally Davies (46:30), 120 Craig McGuire (46:32), 122 Tessa Hearfield (47:15), 123 Ray Brown (47:16), 127 David Pressley (47:51), 129 Andy Phillippou (48:03), 132 Anita Ley (48:24), 148 Andrew Park (51:53)

 The RAT – (Roseland August Trail)
Martyn Breslan and Anita Merritt took on the RAT (Roseland August Trail) for the first time.This multi terrain event on the South Cornish coast path has a few hills and steps added in for good measure! Organised by MudCrew with the pop-up fruit cocktail bars and ice lollies at Pentewan.
Martyn Breslan took on the White RAT, 11 mile race, and came 32nd with a time of (1:54:10)
Anita Merritt ran the Red RAT, 20 mile race, and came 71st with a time of (4:45:01).
Both runners will be back next year and hopefully with a few more club runners!!

Devon Open
Naomi Flanagan “Had fun”! at the Devon Open Track and Field series being first lady in the 3000m event in (10:46/89). Took 4th place (2:37:38) in the 800m out of 10 competitors all male! and claimed a PB in the 400m in (72.29 seconds)

42.3 Miles!

Torbay’s Brian Lewis finished a weekend of running with three great pieces of bling, three bottles of beer, and two packets of biscuits a Buff and some fun times from his two days in Dorset’s White Star Summer Sessions.

First was a Frolic 6 laps over 27.3 miles on some very technical trails around land that Tenko was filmed on in (5:50:10) Next was the Moreton 5 Mile trail race, with 7 bridges to cross on a flat but slippy route, due to rain overnight, sneaking in a top ten finish. Finally finishing with the Moreton 10, two laps of the 5 mile loop. Total 42.3 miles a fun weekend!

Donut 5K
Kirsten Mundy ran a second USA race, this one in Chicago, Stan’s Donut 5K ‘donut rush’ the venue was Montrose Harbour in Chicago Here you could enjoy eating doughnuts throughout the course and at the finish line. Kirsten’s time was (30:57) and presented with a Doughnut shaped medal Dri-Fit Shirt and of course a box of “Donuts”!
