Run Exe Relays
Thirty six runners from both the Junior and Senior ranks of Torbay AC competed in the 4K Run Exe Relays held on Exeter’s Exwick Playing Fields.
Torbay’s 9 Teams of 4 runners produced many outstanding results with four Teams taking first place in their age categories,
(F Juniors U15) Iona Farquharson Mia Ratcliff Ella Rogers, Caitlin Graham
(F Juniors U17) Holly Liberal-Godoy, Lily Bates, Emma Harrison, Josie Ratcliffe,
(M Juniors U17) Alexander Bly, Xavier Bly, Henry Sanderson Myles Begley
(F Seniors 45-54,) Hayley Ratcliffe, Sara Crozier, Karen Baddeley and Debbie Webb
There were also many exceptional individual performances :- Martyn Breslan 3rd mv40 (13:58), Naomi Flanagan 2nd SF (14:35), Karen Baddeley 3rd FV55 (17:25), Hayley Ratcliffe 1st FV50 (17:49), Sara Crozier 3rd FV 50 (17:59)
As a spokesperson for the teams said afterwards “Everything is awesome, everything is cool when you’re part of a team”.

Age UK 10K
Conditions were good for the Age Uk 10k this time having been postponed due to snow previously! Nine Torbay runners took on the revised (slightly longer than 10k) route which involved lots of twists and turns, starting and finishing on Exeter Quay.
Torbay AAC did really well in age categories with Martyn Breslan 6th overall and 1st MV40 (39:39), Ray Wilson 1st MV 70 (57:06) Brian Lewis 2nd MV 45 (45:37), Sara Jane Crozier 2nd FV50 (50:57), Irene Hewings 3rd FV 60 (53:04). Devon Open Series
There were 34 personal bests when 21 Torbay Athletics Club athletes competed at the 2nd Devon Open at Braunton on Sunday 10th June, despite the hot weather and a strong headwind up the home straight.
Sam Hart (U15B) gained 3 PBs and was first in all three of his events – 100m (13.13s), 300m (42.00) and long jump (4.91m)., while younger sister, Jasmine (U13G) was not to be out done and also made 3 PBs – 100m (16.16s), 200m (33.77s) and Long jump (3.52m). Aaron Smith (U11B) also won all of his events with PBs – 100m (14.38s), 200m (30.84s) and long jump (3.93m) and sister Isabelle (U13G) performed well to make two PBs 100m (16.68s) and long jump (3.43m). Connor Howard also gained three PBs in U10B – 75m (12.42s), long jump (2.70m) and 600m (2.25). Josh Taylor (U13B) came 1st in 75m hurdles (13.32s), 2nd in long jump (4.50m) and 2nd in high jump (1.41m PB) and Georgie Scoot (U15G) was 2nd in high jump (1.50m) but won both her 75m hurdles (12.80 season best) and 200m (28.67s PB).
It was a family affair for the Harrisons, with Sara (VW45) winning the mile (6.44PB) and 400m (88.59s), while elder daughter Emma (U15G) also came in with three PBs in the mile (1st 5.58 PB), 300m (48.84, PB) and 200m (31.75 PB). William Harrison (U13B) gained three PBs in 800m (2.46), 75m hurdles(17.29) and high jump (1.15m) and younger sister Amy (U10G) found new form in the long jump (2.25m PB) and 75m sprint (13.62s PB).
U10G Olivia Hallewell had a great day and made three PBs -75m (13.33), long jump (2.25m) and 600m (2.46) while older brother Nathan Hallewell (U13B) showed great determination with a fast sprint finish in the 800m to take 2nd place (2.39 PB) just ahead of Sam Barnaby (2.39). Nathan was also 2nd in 75m hurdles (15.25s) and 2nd in 100m (14.76s).
A sprint finish in the 800m also saw Holly Liberal-Leman (2.45) pip Josie Ratcliff (2.45) in U15G 800m. Josie also came 6th in 200m (32.50s) and Holly was 4th in 300m (50.72s). Myles Begley (U15B) ran very well to achieve new PBs of 2.23 in 800m (1st) and 47.07s (2nd ) in 300m, while Iona Farquarharson dominated the U13G 800m in 2.30 and gained a PB in 100m 16.35s. Also in U13G, Grace Povey achieved two PBs – 200m (36.43s) and long jump (3.13m) and Mia Ratcliff ran well in 800m (2.46), 200m (33.48) and was 4th in 70m hurdles with a new PB (15.13s). Hayley Ratcliff (VW50) also gained a PB in mile (6.49, 1st) and first place in shot putt (7.51m), 100m (16.17s), 200m 934.07s) and 400m (80.48s).
