This Saturday 6 of Torbay AAC’s finest male vet athletes competed in the 5.1 Mile Dartmouth Regatta race which takes athletes along the Dartmouth Quayside towards Warfleet where they begin a long ascent towards Stoke Fleming. The second half of the race is a fairly quick descent back into Dartmouth to cheering crowds, beer tents, food stalls and post race musical entertainment. The race was won by Torbay AAC’s Pete Monaghan in an impressive 30:25 which also gained him the MV50 prize. Other results were 15 Anthony Raine 35:26 3rd MV50; 39 Ian Hayward 39:02 1st MV55; 41 Peter Hart 39:08; 56 Nick Dance 42:13 2nd MV55;129 Bill Valentine 72:19. The Torbay AAC Mens Team were 2nd overall.

Torbay AAC’s Betsy Bebbington took part in Sunday’s Red Rock Mud Run across the River Teign at low tide which is a splashy and muddy affair. Betsy earned 1st FV 40-60 trophy for her 6 mins of hard effort across the 0.6 mile course which is run in aid of Devon Air Ambulance.
