LONDON MARATHON

Five Torbay AAC  athletes were privileged enough to part of the biggest ever London Marathon on Sunday with more than 42,500 fellow runners.
Results on the day were as follows:

First home for the club in 6,683th place and 53rd FV50 was Betsy Bebbington in her new course pb of 03:29:42 – Other results were 11,311 Jo Loten (03:49:14), 13,039 Debbie Drake (03:55:08), 15,090 Karen Frissen (04:00:58), 29.110 Irene Hewings (04:55:11).

 

Ibiza Half Marathon.

Five Torbay AAC athletes also travelled to sunny Ibiza to run in an international field at the Ibiza Half Marathon. Temperatures were as high as 27C, but that didn’t deter Sara Crozier from smashing her pb by over 4 minutes in a time of 1:47:45 and earning a well deserved podium 3rd place in her FV50 category. Other results were: Nick Dance 1:48:51, Fleur Ricklin 1:57:50, Anthony Raine 1:57:51 and Anita Merritt 2:02:00.

 

Cup Cake Challenge

Torbay AAC were represented by two athletes in the Cup Cake Challenge organised by Jolly Running where athletes have to try and run as many 3.3 mile laps as possible in the shortest time. Competitors are spurred on by free cup cakes and other goodies. Fizz Davies ran an impressive 4 laps in just 02:33:12 followed by Mike Davis who ran 8 laps in 06:05:45.

Exmouth Half Marathon

Mark Luscombe of Torbay AAC took on the scenic multi terrain Exmouth Half Marathon which takes athletes out to Budliegh and back. Mark completed the tough undulated course in 02:15:34.
