Eight Torbay AAC senior and junior athletes braved the cold and icy track conditions at the Exeter Arena City Runs 3K evening races. The club’s promising young talent James Larkin had the standout performance of the night by winning the C race on the night with a super quick time of 10:52. Other times on the night were Anthony Raine 11:01, Thomas Ward 11:40, Mia Ratcliff 12:44, Karen Baddeley 12:55, Kav Solder 13:20, Hayley Ratcliff 13:46, Anne Fairey 14:08.

On Sunday seven Torbay AAC athletes took on the Bicton Blister. This is a 10 mile multi-terrain race on Woodbury Common starting and finishing at Bicton College. The start and finish of the race is on road, with the remainder of the race being on sandy, stony and muddy paths across the Common. Results were as follows: 53 Steve Weeks 01:18:39, 113 Ian Hayward 01:27:47, 235 Ray Brown 01:44:20, 240 Andy Philippou 01:44:46, 248 Tessa Hearfield 01:51:49, 336 Michele Sandhu 02:03:09 and 358 Gemma Radcliffe 02:09:37. Three Torbay Athletes opted for Bicton Blister’s Little Brother, the Bicton Lite which is a 4.5 mile run across the common. Results were: 33 Irene Hewings 0:49:46, 36 Mark Luscombe 0:50:46 and 90 Andrew Park 1:00:19.

Tas Falstead conquered the 5 km Spartan Stadion at Twickenham stadium where athletes had to negotiate 20 obstacles including lots of steps.
