Race the Light

Torbay Athletic Club fielded six determined members who battled the elements to Race the Light and the Tide! in an 8.5 run to Mothercombe and back, on the Holbeton. Doing battle with a double estuary crossing and mountains of mud. The rain finally holding off during the multi terrain course, with 257 head torch ready, runners setting off from Mothercombe beach, wading through the estuary! before journeying through the muddy trails of the Fleet Estate; turn around point was at mile 4, back through the woods, through and the estuary again to an uphill finish line. First home for Team Torbay (position 43) was Chris Sweeney (1:11.41) followed by Brian Lewis 69 (1:17.09) Fleur Ricklin 110 (1:24.53) Christopher Norman (1:26.07), Michele Sandhu 220 (1:46.44), Gemma Radcliffe 225 (1:50.36).

Plym Trail Half.

Two TAAC members Cassandra Harrison and Sara Crozier, ran in the Plym Trail Merry Xmas half marathon, an out and back route along he old railway line from Clearbrook, Dartmoor. Although very scenic they ran through a dark tunnel and it poured with rain for the last 2 miles. They both finished in under 2 hours which was good in the conditions Cassandra in (1:15:05) Sara in (1:58:01)
