Monday 16th September

On Sunday two Torbay AAC members ran the Simply Health Great Bristol Half. Betsy Bebbington ran a personal best time to storm home and win her age category. Being a City centre race, the fresh morning became warm very quickly, race organisers cancelled the ‘Strava Mile’ challenge due to the heat. There were staggered starts, the first wave started by the Lord Mayor of Bristol, in her full ceremonial robes, she used a large starting pistol!
The course went under the Clifton Suspension Bridge, twice, returning to the city centre, it was great to see some of the older sections of the City, however the athletes struggled with the cobbles. As it was such a warm day showers had been erected at two locations on the course.
