 SOUTH WEST CLUB & COUNTY CROSS COUNTRY CHAMPIONSHIPSTorbay A.C’s Charlie Arnell claimed second podium place and a championship medal at South-West Cluband County Cross-Country Championships held at Aldon Hill Country Park, Yeovil. On this challenging 5280m course after overtaking Natalie Griffiths (22.02) from Bristol & West AC Arnell (21:52) was unable to catch winner Ruth Barnes (20:52) from Avon the winner of last years Bath 1/2 Marathon

In the U13 Girls race Iona Farquhurson ( 14:48) finished 6th & 2nd for the Devon team qualifying for the mini marathon event run just before the London Marathon  Ella Rogers U13 Girls also ran well finishing 36th (14:45)In the
U17 Men’sJames Alcock finished a creditable 24th.

Oh’ My Obelisk

Seventeen Members ran In the revamped Oh My Obelisk event, now with a full half marathon and less-hilly 9 mile option, but still taking in the hills lanes and mud up and back from Dawlish to the Mamhead Obelisk. First home for Team Torbay in the 9 miler was 14th Ian Hayward (1:18:16) followed by 24 Debbie Webber (1:24:42), 28 Sara Crozier (1:27:57), 59 Gemma Radcliffe (1:51:45)
